Once upon a time...

I loved how you flattened the space here. There is so much to look at and it is such a clever decision to use hierarchal perspective to be able to see it all.

If I were to break this down into separate elements, I'd have to say the pumpkin coach with the horse really stands out. It's such an iconic stand-in for the story of Cinderella and immediately tells me that the little girl isn't just reading a fantasy book, she is definitely reading a book on fairy tales. That said, my only critique would be that I'd love to see a bit more of these small treasures in the piece. It may be that I'm simply missing them (my eyesight goes more and more these days) and they are already there? Castles are definitely things we find in fairytales, but they just don't hold the same specificity the horse and pumpkin carriage does (at least to me).

But overall, this is fantastic. The dust and the "lens flare" that the bubbles create (not sure if that was on purpose but still love it) really give it a great atmosphere. She's in her own bubble reading the book and though there's a whole world around her, we recognize that it is actually a dreamscape with no real mass beyond her own imagination (which is also why she appears the most dense and in-focus).

I'll conclude by saying that as someone who got scolded for refusing to put her book down to eat dinner, the overall subject definitely resonates with me!
